The New York Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Community Energy Services (CES) of Canton, NY recently announced the completion of the first New York Energy $mart Multi-family building in the state. Through NYSERDA's Multi-family Performance Program, apartment buildings or dwellings five units or more can earn the New York Energy $mart label by reducing overall energy use by 20 percent or more. With the help of EBP's energy efficient window package, the Saranac Lake apartment building renovations achieved energy savings of 27%!

The building at 135 Broadway in Saranac Lake, NY, is made up of 13 residential units and commercial space on the ground floor. The 27% reduction in energy use will help save on utility costs and improve comfort for the residents.

On April 10, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has been invited to join Saranac Lake Mayor, Thomas Michael; Governor David Paterson, and Paul DeCotis, NYS Deputy Director for Energy; along with other officials to recognize the first building to complete the state's energy improvement program for multi-family buildings.

EBP is proud to have been selected to provide the energy efficient window package for the esteemed project!
